James is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sylvia Spears of Baytown, Texas; son Andrew Spears and his wife Gail Lynn Spears of Baytown; son Jay Spears and his wife Andi Spears of Clarksburg, West Virginia; grandsons, William James and Matthew Carl Spears of Baytown, Texas; grand-daughters, Bailey Erin and Riley Morgan Spears of Clarksburg, West Virginia. He is also survived by an older sister Melba Anderson of Clifton, Arizona and by many sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, nieces, and cousins.
He was an electrician by trade and worked in many of the refinery and chemical plants in the Houston area until his retirement. James was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed participating in Civil War Reenactments in Louisiana and Texas. His love of family was expressed in his care for his wife, sons, family members, and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at 11:00 am, at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Dahlquist, Bill Heinstchel, Kenneth Ellis, Andy Wright, Kevin Guy, John Strown, John Lyndstrom, and Clint Haffelfinger. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Burg, Allen Wright, Tad Dahlquist, Ricky Larkin, Tony Fernandez, Ferrel Angelle, John Weatherby, Bobby Plott, and Nathan Morris.
