James Manning Ricketson, 69, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on December 28th, 2021. He was born in Kremmling Colorado on January 25th, 1952 to Lilburn Hal Ricketson and Jeane Ricketson. He was married to Cecelia Dawn Ricketson for 46 years. James was an electrician for the oil industry and worked at the same plant for over 30 years. He was a deeply spiritual and religious man, who loved the Dallas Cowboys, and who’s favorite place was out in his garden.
In his younger years he played softball and collected enough trophies that he had a full truck bed when he finally decided to get rid of them. He loved watching sports…although it didn’t always sound that way in his conversations with the television. James played football from a young age and spent Sunday afternoons watching the Cowboys. He also loved animals and often had a trail of fur babies following him around. He was a remarkably strong man, and fiercely loyal to his family.
James served in the army during the Vietnam War. He even first met his wife Cecelia when wearing his fatigues. They raised three daughters together, and have four grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Micheal Hal Ricketson, wife Cecelia Ricketson; his three daughters, Tiffani Michelle Gillis, Lauree Renee Stephens, and Keri Lynne Ricketson Stanford, and his grandchildren Kayla Fontenot, Kealy Ricketson, Tristan Stephens and Audrey Stephens. He leaves a legacy of strength and love and will be greatly missed.
