James Patrick Anderson left this world for his Heavenly home on December 13,2024, at the age of 81. He was known as Jimmy to his family and early classmates. After graduation and during his working career he became known as Andy Anderson.
He was born in Mexia, Texas, on August 2, 1943. His family moved and his school years were in Victoria, Texas. After graduation he moved to Houston, Texas where he met his wife of more than 50 years, Patricia Williams. They married and settled in Baytown when he worked for Brown & Root for over 25 years. He was a welder. He then worked for Diamond Maintenance and other contractors in the ExxonMobil Complex, and in Deer Park, Texas. Patricia worked for ExxonMobil for 26 years.
The Andersons moved to Crosby. They had two sons Jim Boon and Stevie Jonathan. They were very involved with their sons in all their sports of baseball, football, basketball, and soccer. Andy never missed a game and all of Jim Boon’s teammates loved to hear him encouraging them all through the game. Both boys showed animals at the Crosby rodeo for the 4H Club for 9 years. They showed capons, turkeys and broilers and placed every year.
Andy is preceded in death by his grandmother Naomi Gee, his father Jim Boon Anderson, his mother Louise Welch, his brother Ray Wayne Anderson, his sister Barbara Welch, his son Jami Anderson, and his great grandson Nathaniel. He is survived by his wife Patricia, his two sons Jim Boon and Stevie, brothers Ronnie Welch of Mexia, Texas and Robbie Welch of Houston, Texas, six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a service honoring James Patrick Anderson on Saturday, December 21,2024. Visitation will be held from 9 until 10AM, followed by the funeral service at 10AM. Immediately following the service the family will travel to Groesbeck, Texas for a service and burial at 3PM.
