Jack Wayne Roachell, Sr., 87, of Fort Smith, AR, formerly of LaPorte, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016 in a local hospital. He was born on March 4, 1929 in Parkin, Arkansas to Clarence and Zelma (Wardlow) Roachell. He was a retired barber, an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of First Baptist Church of LaPorte, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Margie Dallas and Charlene Heath.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Willie Faye Roachell of Fort Smith, AR; a son, Jack W. Roachell, Jr., wife Cathy of Lake Jackson, TX, two daughters, Teresa Dore and her husband Chuck of Portsmouth, RI and Lori Cooper of Fort Smith, AR; four brothers, Clarence Roachell of Livingston, TX, Ted Roachell of Cleveland, TX, Mickey and Timothy Roachell both of Arkansas; a sister, Linda Martin of Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Chase Dore, Dustin and Andi Cooper, Bethany and Jordan Roachell and Randy Scott and his wife Amanda , Jennifer Scott and two great grandchildren, Jayson Roachell and Wyatt Scott.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Earthman Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 2:30pm at First Baptist Church-Laporte, 310 S Broadway St, La Porte, TX 77571. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505.
