Helen Evelyn Garrett, 93, of Baytown, passed away on April 20, 2023. She was born in Baytown on June 17, 1929 to James Frederick Ball and Thelma Inez Ball. Helen was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Baytown where she served as Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher.
Helen was known for her exquisite embroidery work and flawless detail. She was a nurturer through and through from loving for her pet Cuddles, caring for birds, nurturing her flowerbeds, but what brought her the most joy was taking care of her grandchildren. Helen was excellent at changing her voice when role playing a variety of characters while entertaining her grandchildren. She had the sweetest, southern grace disposition and when she said “I just love you” she meant it.
To all who knew her loved and adored her, God truly blessed us with an angel here on Earth when he placed Helen in our lives. She had the sweetest, most endearing smile that would light up any room. Helen will always be fondly remembered for her beauty, genuine kindness, and positive spirit by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father James Frederick Ball, mother Thelma Inez Ball, and brother Frederick Ball. She was also preceded in death by her husband George Garrett, grandsons Jeffrey and Timothy Stuart, and son-in-laws Tim Stuart and Dwayne Cambern.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Stuart and Margie Garrett, grandchildren Amy and James Kaminski, Melanie and Scott Risko, and Angela and Megan Cambern. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Tyler, Lauren and Sarah Kaminski, Lacey and Blake Risko, and Caleb King.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am, Monday, May 15, 2023, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, Texas 77521.
