Edgar L. Riley, 88, of Baytown, went to be with his Lord on Thursday May 18, 2006. He was born in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma on July 17, 1917. He worked for 34 years at Exxon Mobil Corp. He was a charter member and former deacon of Lakewood Church of Christ. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William N. and Lear Riley; wife, Rosemary Riley; granddaughters Becky Collins, baby girl Foster; one brother; and six sisters.
He is survived by his children, Judith L. (Judy) Foster & Jack Foster of Baytown, Margaret A. (Marty) & Jerry Foster of Baytown, Edgar J. (Punchy) & Linda Riley of Baytown, William C. (Bill) Riley of Baytown, Randall R. (Randy)& Jo Riley of Dayton, TX; grandchildren, John and Gina Foster of Thicket, TX, David & Ashlea Foster of Baytown, Jerry L. & Babs Foster of Orange, TX, Rich and Kara Foster of Grapevine, TX, Julie & Robby Jannise of Baytown, Jason & Ashley Riley of Trophy Club, TX, Joey & Jamie Riley of Baytown, Randi Kay & Morgan Riley of Dayton, TX, Melissa & Stephanie Norcross of Dayton, TX., great grandchildren, Dustin & Logan Foster of Thicket, TX, Karsyn Foster of Baytown, Kendall Bosse-Foster of Ingram, TX, Krista & Collin Foster of Orange, TX, Amber Foster of Baytown, Allie Foster of Grapevine, TX, Paige Jannise of Baytown, Ava Riley of Trophy Club, TX, Grant Riley of Atkins AK, Amanda & Christian Gesford of Baytown, and Sadie & Wyatt Collins of Mt. Pleasant, TX.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home, officiated by David Ellis and David Pratt. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Foster, David Foster, Jerry L. Foster, Rich Foster, Joey Riley, and Jason Riley. Honorary pallbearers are Emery Touchet, Carl Collins, Herb Lorfing, Larry Sanders, Harold Allen, George Kimmey, Larry Christensen, Jerry Foster, Jack Foster, Robby Jannise, and all the elders and deacons at Lakewood Church of Christ.
