Wilber Clayton Farr Jr., 73, of Conroe, TX, passed away on January 10th, 2024. He was born in McAllen, Texas on November 28th, 1950, to Wilber & Marie Farr. He was married to his beautiful wife, Clara (Lita) Farr, for 50 years, which they celebrated on December 22nd, 2023.
Clayton was a small business owner who owned a hydrocarbon transportation company, B.G. Hooker, which he sold in 1986. Soon after, he started his own Insurance Company, working for Allstate Insurance for 22 years. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, a Deacon at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church in Baytown, TX for many years until he & Lita moved to Conroe, where he became a faithful member of West Conroe Baptist Church. Clayton had a passion for the outdoors, politics, spending time with family & friends & enjoying his retirement with his best friend Lita. In Clayton’s later years, his favorite role was being Paw Paw to his 10 grandchildren. However, it was his lifelong commitment & faith in Jesus Christ that he was most passionate about.
Clayton was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa, his father, Wilber & mother, Marie.
Clayton is survived by his Wife, Lita, Sister & Brother-in-Law, Tina & Lyle Joyce of Rochester, MN, Brother & Sister-in-Law, Steve & Lori Farr of New Caney, TX, Daughter & Son-in-Law, Beth & Mario Ortiz of Woodlands, TX, Daughter & Son-in-Law, Laura & Dennis Lear of Fulshear, TX, Son & life partner, Matthew Farr & Rebecca Cepeda of Houston, TX, 10 Grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews & countless friends.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, TX 77521. Following the funeral service will be a committal service at Cedarcrest Cemetery, 3010 Ferry Rd, Baytown, TX 77520.
