Cesar graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic high school, and attended Texas Southmost College. He began his career path in law enforcement in Cameron County, Texas, and also worked as a Deputy Constable for Harris County. Cesar moved to Baytown Texas in 1967 where he began a career with US Steel, and then spent 20 plus years with Exxon Mobil, working in Public Relations. Cesar retired from Exxon Mobil in 2001. Public Relations was a perfect fit for Cesar, a polished, eloquent, charming individual.
Cesar always made you feel welcomed and loved. Everybody loved Cesar.
Cesar was active in his community, giving many years of service to Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Council, volunteering in his local school district, reading to classrooms, judging chili cook offs, providing lunch, and delivering school supplies.
Above all else, Cesar saw his family as his greatest accomplishment. He was a great family man, loving husband, father, role model, and the best grandfather (Paw Paw) to his grandchildren. “Paw Paw” will be greatly missed. His family brought him so much joy, especially as he neared the end of his time on earth. One of his greatest passions was to bar b que and spend time with family and friends. If it was the weekend, you would find Cesar outside with his smoker. When asked to cook, it was always a yes!
How lucky we are to have had someone in our lives that makes saying goodbye so hard. We know Cesar will be waiting for us with open arms.
