Cano grew up in Sheridan Texas with 7 brothers and sisters. As a child he would help his parents around the farm and play down the long red dirt top that ran off of Shell Plant Road. In school Cano enjoyed track and football. There he would also go on to learn traits as a welder and mechanic. These traits would stick with Cano through his personal and professional career. After high school, Cano would go on to serve in the national guard for two years. Once he was done with his initial enlistment, he would go on to start his professional career in construction. Cano started off in construction as an operator. After several years he decided to start his own business fittingly named Hernandez Concrete Pavers. He would go on for several years with his business doing memorable jobs such as League City Park, South Shore Harbor and the walkways at Astroworld. Cano eventually decided to step away from owning his own company and get back into construction. This second stint in construction is where Cano would go on to meet many lifelong friends and have the opportunity to travel all across the United States. When Cano was not on the road working he enjoyed volunteering with The La Porte Go Texan Committee and participating in Bar B Que cook offs alongside his father in law Al Blackford as the Double Tree Cookers. Cano also enjoyed working in his shop on old cars, eating Oreo’s, listening to George Jones and spending time with his family.
Cano is preceded in death by his parents Cano Sr and Felipa Hernandez. Grandparents Manuel and Manuela Rivera. Brother N Law Trampas Blackford and Father N Law Al Blackford
Cano is survived by his daughter, Patricia Hernandez; Sons, Cano Alvin Hernandez, Tristan Cody Hernandez; sisters, Deloris Kazmir, Molly Garza, Lucy Rodriguez; brothers, Paul Hernandez, Tommy Hernandez, Joe Hernandez, Simon Hernandez; grandchildren, Cecily Rodriguez, Kayla Manciaz, Larissa Manciaz, Channing Hernandez and Camden Hernandez; 4 Great Grandchildren, and former spouses Emma Hernandez and Terrie Hernandez.
Funeral services will be held July 18th, 2020 from 10 – 1:00 at Earthman Funeral Home 3919 Garth Road Baytown, TX 77521
