Bob proudly served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his service, he worked for Brown & Root as a project manager, among other jobs, for 30 years.
He was very involved in his community, volunteering for the Evening Pilot Club and the Lifeline Pilot Clubs of Baytown.
Bob was a loving father, grandfather (Paw Paw), and recent great grandfather. He was a friend, role model, and inspiration to all who met him. His endless kindness and unwavering faith will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W.C. and Lola Carpenter and son Deane Rene Carpenter.
Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara McClain Carpenter; son, Adam Carpenter; daughter, Tammy Eschberger and son-in-law, Alan Eschberger; grandchildren, Madeline Eschberger, Tani and Christopher Muschalek, Abby and Troy Hilferty; great grandson, Grayson Hilferty; brothers, H.D. Carpenter, Ben Carpenter and wife Debbie.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Navarre Funeral Home on Monday, January 18, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with funeral service to begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
