Alicia Puente went to be with the Lord on December 16th, 2010 at the age of 87, after a long and brave battle with breast cancer. During these trying times, she was surrounded by her family whom she loved very much. She was born in 1923 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico and resided the majority of her life in Monterrey, Mexico, where she started her family. In the 1950s, she moved to Chicago, Illinois with her family.
Her passion in life was her selfless love for her family, nature, gardening, cooking, life in the ranch and devotion to her catholic faith. She was married to José Puente (†), whom she had known since the 3rd grade. She is survived by her sons and daughters Blanca Amador, José Puente, Alicia Sánchez, Yolanda Puente, Efrain Puente, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was the daughter of Antonio and Santos Morales de Galindo and sister to José, Concepcion, Petra and Lorenzo.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 20th, 2010 at 4:00 P.M. with rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Service will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Memorial Garden Cemetery. Words of condolence may be left for the family at www.earthmanbaytown.com.
