"William Warren Roberts, 59, of Baton Rouge passed away suddenly from cardiac arrest on Saturday, June 24, 2017. 'Wild Will' was a graduate of University High School, Class of 1976 where he maintained the school record for 15 sacks by a Defensive End in a season held from 1974 until 2013. He was a member of the UHS track team and was often seen at the home games watching his U-High Cubs. Will also earned the Eagle Scout of Honor as a member of the Istrouma Boy Scouts Area Council. He attended Louisiana Tech University where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. An avid reader of The Advocate, there wasn't a day that went by where he did not read the paper. Will was honorably discharged from the US Army, Private First Class in November of 1986. As an avid Saints fan, Will would be happy to tell you everything you needed to know about the WHO DAT NATION. He was truly overjoyed to see his Saints win the 2010 Super Bowl. He is preceded in death by his mother, JoEdna Peabody Roberts, his maternal grandparents, Melba and Ben H. Peabody, Sr., his paternal grandparents Lillian and Evans L. Roberts, Sr., aunt Melba "Nanny" Peabody Kinchen. Survived by his father, Evans L. Roberts, Jr., his sisters Nancy Roberts DePoe, Renee Elizabeth Roberts, Jodi Roberts Gianfala, brother Evans L. Roberts, III, M.D., brothers-in-law Fred DePoe and Todd Gianfala, sister-in-law Erika Burke Roberts, nieces Megan DePoe Burt, Chelsea DePoe, Camille 'Mimi' Gianfala, and nephew Sam Paul Gianfala. His aunts and uncles, Margaret and William D'Armond, Weegie and Ben Peabody, Jr., cousins Dan D'Armond, Tom D'Armond, Katherine D'Armond Neal, Amy Kinchen Lucchesi and Kelli Kinchen Whitaker. Friends are invited to join the family for visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Friday, June 30, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. The graveside service and burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Todd Gianfala, Sam Gianfala, Dan D'Armond, Tom D'Armond, William D'Armond and Brian Neal.
