II Timothy 4:7-8, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
William James “Bill” Chenevert passed away, surrounded by family on September 29, 2024 at the age of 79. Billy’s lifelong passion was building and racing cars, as well as buying and selling them. He was an entrepreneur with exceptional negotiation skills and lived for the thrill of the deal. He was extremely intelligent and shared his wisdom with anyone who would listen and even those who wouldn’t. He was well-known for his “Billy-isms” and loved to make you laugh. He enjoyed camping, bike riding and long drives along old country roads (at very high speeds). “Paw Paw Bill” will be deeply missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; his son, Chris Chenevert and daughters, Tiffany Dykes (Brian), Sherri Brady (Chuck) and Shelly Stephens (Chad); grandchildren: Celeste Gross, Cody, Jacob and, Alex Chenevert, Trent and Julia Dykes, Haylee’ Allen and Georgia Hedges, and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Audrey Chenevert and his sister, Juanita Chenevert. Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 3, 2024, 11:00 am followed by 12:30 pm funeral Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 2250 Main Street, Baton Rouge. Christian burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd. We would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Christopher Thomas and the ICU staff at OLOL for their professional and compassionate care, and Fr. Josh Johnson for his exceptional pastoral care.
