"William R. "Bill" Brown died on Wednesday, October 19th, peacefully in his home in Baton Rouge at the age of 71. He was born in Altus, Oklahoma on October 29, 1944 and was a graduate of Oklahoma University. He served as an officer going thru Officer Candidate School at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma in 1968. Bill was stationed in Korea and worked at the Redstone Arsenal on the Persian Missile Site in Huntsville, Alabama. He worked and retired from Albemarle as a Senior Research and Development Specialist with a number of patents. Bill had a great musical talent for piano and guitar. A member of the Baton Rouge Fly Fishing Club for many years, he also was the writer for the Red Stick Magazine. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pat Brown; a son, Jeff Brown of Baton Rouge; a daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Kris Reynolds of Fayetteville, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Morgan, Max and Madison of Fayetteville, and Virginia and Maggie of Baton Rouge; and a sister, Peggy Moot of Champagne, Illinois. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Brown and Betty Jo Martineau of Lawton, Oklahoma. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 10 am until a Memorial Service at 11 am conducted by Rev. Ron Lambe.
