

Vivian Sweeney Ozley, 84, of Baton Rouge passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and an adoring grandmother. Vivian was affectionately known as "Mamie" to her granddaughter and "Aunt Vivian" to her many nieces and nephews. She had many hobbies but especially enjoyed boating. Vivian will long be remembered for her generosity and love for her family and friends. She was born in Alabaster, Alabama on June 30, 1927 and graduated from Thompson High School. Vivian married Henry Wells Ozley in 1948. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Baton Rouge. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in 2009. Vivian and her sister Billie owned and operated Two Sister's Beauty Salon in Baton Rouge for over 40 years. Vivian is survived by her daughter, Tammy Ozley Brice, and husband Michael Brice; her granddaughter, Mary Wells Brice; her sister Billie Ruth Sweeney Hargrove, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Wells Ozley; her parents, John Robert Sweeney and Mary Ethel Sweeney of Alabaster, Alabama; her sisters, Ella Mae Blankenship, Annie Johnson, Eva Harwell, Lallage Attaway, Kate Posey; and her brothers, John Robert Sweeney, Jr., Patrick Sweeney, Leland Sweeney, and Leo Glenn. The family would like to give special thanks to Jeffrey Hyde, MD, Kenneth Cole, MD, Glynes Hyde, Jeanie McKowen Thuneman, Tricia Poche, Shannon LeBlanc, Betty Leonard, Sandra Douglas and numerous other friends and caregivers. Pallbearers will be Michael Brice, Frank Brice, Jim Ozley, Robert Ozley, Dr. Jeffrey Hyde, Doyle Johnson, and Fred Johnson. Visitation will be at St. James Episcopal Church on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge.
