Vita Marie Digirolamo Taylor passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her children, grandchildren and sisters Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 1:25 pm. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished her family. Her kind and gentle nature was her strength "“ a legacy she leaves to all who knew her. She was 84, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA and a retired Executive Secretary with Barbay/Brooks-Harbour&Associates. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. on Sunday, May 11, 2014 from 5 pm until 8 pm. Visitation will resume Monday, May 12, 2014 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am with the Rev. Phil Spano celebrant. Interment will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by her children: two sons, Paul Taylor, Jeffrey Taylor and wife Vicki; one daughter, Jennifer Taylor Arceneaux and husband Guy; two sisters, Mamie Zumo and Veronica Chenier; four granddaughters, Amanda Arceneaux Schamber, Lindsey Taylor Guidroz and husband Gary, Haley Taylor Thomas and husband Brett, and Megan Taylor; four great-grandchildren, Emilie and Anna Schamber, Cash Guidroz and Micah Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Percy Eugene Taylor; her parents, Henry and Annie Digirolamo; one brother, Joseph Henry Digirolamo. Pallbearers will be Guy Arceneaux, Gary Guidroz, Warren Guedry, Tony Zumo, Ronny Zumo and Phillip Dimattia. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Stephen Speeg for his wonderful care and endless compassion and the entire staff of Hospice Compassus.
