Vergie Elizabeth Borck

Vergie Elizabeth Borck passed away peacefully, in the presence of her family, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at the age of 101. She was born in Toro, LA & a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA. After 30 years of service, she retired as a receptionist from the state of LA while employed at WBRZ TV, & later, Greenoaks Funeral Home. Vergie was an accomplished artist, & a great conversationalist. She cared for her mother until her passing, as her family did for her. Vergie was a devout Christian & a faithful follower of the Lord. She is survived by her son, Jerry (JoAnn); granddaughter, Kim Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Cody and Tory Neely, and Trey, Cole and Ava Kennedy; great-great-grandchildren, Charlie and Aubrey Kennedy; sister, Aline Vit; and numerous nieces and nephews. Vergie is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Marsh and Florida Palmer; grandson, Gary Neely; siblings, Earl, Estelle, Elton and Alice; sister-in-law, Betty. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, June 22, 2023, from 11am until the time of funeral services at 12pm. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of The Hospice of Baton Rouge for all of the excellent care & compassion given to Mrs. Vergie. Also, a very special thanks to her niece, Annette Burr, & granddaughter, Kim.
