Teddy James Morrison died suddenly on 27 January, 2015, at his property in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Teddy was born on February 26, 1948, in Alexandria, Louisiana, and grew up at Camp Beauregard, Louisiana. He was active in high school sports at Tioga High School, leading his football team to victory as their quarterback. He was a Vietnam veteran in the Air Force, serving in several assignments overseas. His professional career was in aerospace, where he was instrumental in designing and maintaining communication systems between the ground and manned spacecraft. He served in several locations throughout the US and in Spain before completing his career at the NASA White Sands facility in New Mexico, where his expertise helped establish reliable communications between NASA and the space shuttle. He retired in December 2013, and then moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Even in retirement, he was a consultant on several NASA projects. He was a member of the American Legion, civic and church organizations as well as being passionate about politics, sports and running marathons. Ted was a dedicated church leader and giver and song director.Ted is survived by his wife of 46 years, Edwina Linn (Palmer) Morrison, his daughter Heide Marie (Morrison) and Doug Shanda and his son Edward Shane and Elizabeth Morrison and two grandchildren, Gillian Marie Morrison and Graysen James Morrison to whom he was a very devoted grandfather. Teddy was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil D. and Loree Morrison. His siblings are Rose Marie Cooper, Donald Morrison, and Gary Morrison. Pall bearers are Bobby Hollingsworth, Dale Johnson, Tim Linn, Eddie Palmer, Edward Palmer, and Billy Rhimes. Honorary bearers are David Cooper, Luis Duarte, Scott Gardenhire, Roy Harris, Landy Hinesley and Keith Johnson.Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 at First Church of Nazarene, 9955 Old Hammond Hwy.
