Stanley Ray Hebert Sr., a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, died on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in Baton Rouge. He was born in Plaquemine, La. but moved to Baton Rouge after his retirement. He was a former machinist at Nadler's Foundry and later served as Mayor of Plaquemine from November, 1976 until December, 1992. He helped run the Plaquemine Teenage Youth Center for many years. Born on June 28th, he was one month away from his 86th birthday. He is survived by his daughter, Peggy H. Howell and Steve Mansur; son, Stanley R. "Benny" Hebert Jr. and Holly Wall; six grandchildren, Shannon Howell Jumonville, Allison Howell Henriksen and husband, Paul, Shelley Tramonte, Stan Hebert and wife, Michele; Kimberly Hebert, who lived with her beloved grandmother and grandfather from the age of 14, and Nicholas Hebert; six great-grandchildren, Taylor and Jordan Jumonville, Austin and Kaylie Henriksen, and Caleb and Sydney Hebert; sister, Norma Hebert Tullier; and brother, Lloyd "Too" Hebert Jr. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Helen McConnell Hebert; parents, Lloyd Hebert Sr. and Evelyn Dobel Hebert, sister, Myrna Hebert Mott, and adopted brother, George "PeeWee" Hebert. He was an honest, loving and admirable man with a dry sense of humor and will be forever missed. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Friday, May 10, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, May 11, from 12 noon until funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial Greenoaks Memorial Park.
