Sherry Hatcher Walker, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at 9:17 pm on Monday, December 11, 2023. She was 86 years old. She attended Baton Rouge High School and was employed in the Transportation Department of East Baton Rouge Parish School System for many years as a bus driver and office clerk. Sherry grew up training and showing Tennessee Walker horses with her dad, was an avid reader, loved spending time with her family, traveled and got into trouble with her best friend, Bobbie Duvall. She is survived by her three sons, James Browning Jr., wife Leslie, Leslie Mark Browning (Sharon Hodges), and Kevin Dale Browning, husband Tedman Lee; six grandchildren - Lindsey Browning Gabriel, Taylor Browning Sicard, Chip Kennedy, Stephen Lee, Angela Bradley and Camille Domingues; great grandchildren Madeleine, Preston, Molly, William, Landon, Marcie, Isabella, Thomas, Brailyn, Cameron, Grayson, Addison, Dawsyn and Ila. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gus Hatcher and Marguarite Rabenhorst Hatcher; husband Ralph Walker, brother James Reeve Barrow, sisters Rosemary Aguillard, June Belle and Peggy Langley. Pallbearers will be Tedman Lee, Chip Kennedy, Bob Gabriel, Jonathan Sicard, Randy Russell, Jr. and Jim McQueen. Honorary pallbearer is Jeff Gutierrez. Special thanks to the staff of The Claiborne at Shoe Creek, Hospice of BR and the Butterfly Wing at BR General Mid City. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 14, from 4 pm to 8 pm and Friday, December 15, from 10 am to 11 am with services at 11 am at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Baton Rouge.
