Stephens, Jr., Shelly GlenShelly Glen Stephens, Jr. died on Tuesday, April 7, 2015. He was 64. He was born April 9, 1950, and grew up in Baton Rouge, LA. He was a resident of Zachary for nearly twenty years. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business (Accounting) and a Master of Professional Accountancy from Southern University and A&M College. He was a 1968 graduate of Southern Laboratory School. He worked for General Motors in Detroit, as well as Southern University Residential Housing and the Comptroller's Office as an accountant. He also worked as an accounting instructor at the Baton Rouge School of Computers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelly Glen Stephens, Sr. and Ida Mae Houston Stephens. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Renault Baucom Stephens; son, Eric L. Stephens and wife LaTristaca Doucet Stephens of Richmond, VA; daughter, Terry P. Stephens Terrell; two sisters, Synda E'Lois Stephens Baker and Alicia Estelle Stephens; five grandchildren: Trinity V. and Chloe E. Stephens of Richmond, VA; Kenyon D., Jr., Ra'Shelle B. and Stephen D. Terrell of Hollywood, FL; two brothers-in-law, Ronald K. Baker and Earl H. Baucom of Baltimore, MD; two nephews, James E. Baucom of Baltimore, MD and Chazz Remington Baker; one niece, I'ari Baker; one aunt and godmother, Louise Houston Turner, and one uncle, Robert Turner, Jr. of Webster, TX; and many cousins and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, April 16, 2015, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, LA and Friday, April 17, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. until services at 12:00 noon at Bethany Church North Campus, 13885 Plank Road, Baker, LA. Interment with Military Honors will immediately follow at Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary, LA. Rabenhorst Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
