The world has lost a true gentleman. Sam C. Barbera, Jr., 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 after a valiant 10 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. He has been reunited with his son for eternity. A native of Napoleonville, Sam served his country as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed a life-long career in the automotive business, retiring from All Star Automotive Group in 2012. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Sam C. Barbera, Sr. and Mamie Tramonte Barbera; son, Sam C. Barbera III; and in-laws, Stephen and Emily Fertitta. He is survived by his high-school sweetheart and loving wife of 55 years, Frances Fertitta Barbera; daughter, Stephanie LeJeune; son-in-law, Geoffery LeJeune; grandsons, Preston LeJeune and Vincent LeJeune; granddaughter, Frances LeJeune; daughter-in-law, Tracey Barbera; and brother-in-law, Stephen E. Fertitta. Sam is also survived by his siblings: Judge Jerome Barbera (Judy), Jay Barbera (Debbie), David Barbera (Katie), Tina Harvey (Sam), and Danny Barbera (Connie). Visitation will commence at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, followed by a memorial service at noon. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Heart of Hospice, Baton Rouge, for their compassionate care.
