Judy, Erin, and Neil,

I am so sorry to hear about Roy.  I can't begin to understand your sorrow and thoughts at this time.  Roy was a good friend of mine.  I met Roy while working for Bell South in Baton Rouge.   He was a very smart guy with a very quick wit.  There were a group of us at Bell South that were our own "Rat Pack".  We could all dish it out as well as take it.  Roy would make me  laugh so hard and as I write this a smile crosses my face.  Let me  share this memory about Roy.  Way back around 1978, Roy, Bill Eckels, Steve Faulk, and few more of us tried our luck at playing golf.  As you can imagine we were not very good, but we always had a great time.  We were so bad that we would go through a dozen golf balls in a single round.  Balls were pretty expensive back then, so Roy and I decide that it would be a great idea to walk the canals that went through the Baton Rouge Country Club and pick up lost golf balls.  Yes, you heard right, your dad and I entered what at the time was the premier country club in Baton Rouge through the canal or ditch.  The weeds were so high that you could not see the sky.  I don't know if you know what a croker sack is, but it is a burlap bag that seeds or feed would come in. We filled that sack with about 200 golf balls.   So here we were two Account Executives working for Bell South, one of the most well respected companies at the time, scurrying around like golf ball rats.  We never had to buy golf balls after that!  We would just take another stroll down the ditch.  Roy was a very special person and has a special place in my heart.  He and I would often talk about our kids.  He was always talking about you, Erin and Neil.  Judy,  he loved you will all his heart.  I told him often how much he married up!  I often told him that why Judy would  even take a second look at him was one of life's great mysteries.   Katie and I hope to see you tomorrow to celebrate the life of my good friend.
