Rose Marie Alexander"Romie"Schexnayder

SCHEXNAYDER, Rose Marie Alexander "Romie"Rose Marie Schexnayder of Baton Rouge passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. She was 88 years old. She was a beautiful woman, kind and loving with a smile for everyone. She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Contine (Wendell) and Paula Rains (Joe), and by her son, Keith Schexnayder (Doug). She also has four granddaughters: April Rains, Sophie Aime (Donald), Holly Rains (Danny) and Maggie Rains (Rachel). There are also four great-granddaughters; special nephew, Charles Elliott (Christina); family friend, Darrell Smith; and many family relatives on the West Coast. She is preceded in death by her husband, H.C. Schexnayder; son, Gary; and daughter, Rosie. She also had three sisters who preceded her in death: Callie Cain, Sophie Alexander, and Mikelyn Farrier; and two brothers, Buddy Alexander and Alexis Alexander. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd, from 9am until Memorial Mass at 11am. A reception will follow at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, to celebrate Romie's wonderful life. The family would like to thank Barbara Fuller, Nicole Huffstetler, and the staff at St. Joseph Hospice for their loving care given to Romie.
