Ronald Dale Walton, age 89, resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on December 2, 2022. Ronald was an Istrouma High School graduate and attended LSU. He served in the Army in the Korean War, and was stationed in Germany from 1953-1955. Ronald was a Lab Analyst at Honeywell Chemical Plant for 45 years. He served the community by being a Volunteer Deputy with B.R. Sheriff’s office. He was also a Sunday School Teacher, church usher, LSU Gate Captain, and a member of Lanier Baptist Church. Ronald enjoyed woodworking, building furniture, making walking sticks for friends, jewelry making, walking, vacations with family, reading his Bible, and LSU sports. Ronald is survived by his spouse of 63 years, Beverly Babin Walton; daughters, Rhonda Barnett (Mike), Rebecca Hickey (Timothy); grandchildren, Jennifer Barrett (Ty), Josh Barnett (Colby), Victoria, Preston, Payton Hickey; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Caleb Barrett; brother, Darrel Walton (Pat). Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse R., Aurelia B. Walton; infant son; brothers, Jesse and Norris Walton. Pallbearers will be: Mike Barnett, Josh Barnett, Ty Barrett, Timothy Hickey, Preston Hickey, Payton Hickey, Jacob and Caleb Barrett. Ronald was a kind, compassionate, loving, Godly father and husband. He was a hard worker, creative, good provider who always valued time spent with his family and vacations at the beach and the mountains. There are many treasured memories because of him. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Pearl at Jamestown, St. Joseph’s Hospice, and the Carpenter House. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 10 from 12-2 pm with a funeral service to begin at 2pm at Greenoaks Funeral Home.
