I’m so sorry for the loss of Bobby and you have Elaine and my sympathy.  I thought I would be writing this much sooner but it seems I just couldn’t bring myself to do because it would mean it was real and I had lost a friend and colleague way too soon!  I will always remember our time together in Baton Rouge and Houston, TX.  I’ll never forget when he and I were discussing a move to the Ocean Fleet and a new job as a possibility only to have it become a reality the following week to everyone’s surprise.  

I remember the headboards he made from old antique doors he found and all of the other projects he had going.  It was my pleasure to get to know him and for him to gracious enough to accept me when I came to Baton Rouge, LA.  I appreciated everything he had done for me.  

May he Rest In Peace.  

So sorry to hear of Bobby’s passing and our condolences to Michelle and family.  Bobby was such a pleasure to work with and always had a smile on his face no matter the time of day or workload.  I have such fond memories spending time with Bobby and Michelle from our “Benicia Days” when they were our next door neighbors with ski trips, wine tasting outings and meet-ups with the “Benicia Gang”.  There are many great memories of Bobby over the years and it was an honor and pleasure to have known him.  What a gentleman, colleague, neighbor, ski partner and friend.

Dear Michelle, Robby,  Mike  and family,

We are very sorry for your loss, Bobby was such a fine man.
We know his passing is very difficult, but his love will endure in our hearts. 
Suzanne and I were lucky to meet Bobby though work, and became friends a long time ago.
One of our fondest memories was a trip with he and Michelle to Rosarito Beach, Mexico. It was a wonderful, wonderful trip with lots of fun. One day we played golf in the mountains, overlooking the Pacific. The views were awesome. Unfortunately, I was hit by a runaway golf cart. At first we thought of heading back to the states  for x-rays, but after hobbling around awhile, and Bobby saying it doesn't look too bad, we continued on with the trip. (Bobby was in the runaway cart, with Michelle at the wheel)
Also, during the entire trip, Bobby and I tried listening to the radio in the rental car but the station would change at the least little bump or whatever. Towards the end of the trip, we were trying to listen to a football game, but same thing, station kept changing. 
It was driving us crazy, and we even tried wedging toothpicks into the buttons in a failing effort to hear the game. 
Bobby and I were determined to complain to the rental company, until the girls riding in the back seat told us they had been controlling the stations via, new at the time, rear controls. Then we knew one of the reasons  there was so much laughter coming from behind us the entire trip. And, that we weren't as crazy as we thought. 

We will remember those, and all of the other the happy times.
Please know that while we cannot be with you at Bobby's services, our hearts and our prayers are surely there with you.

Bobby. Such a special friend of Buster and Peggy Rau. Grew up together since we could walk. Our moms conversing over the fence hanging clothes to dry.  Playing hide and seek on summer nights. Having water gun fights that escalated to hoses.  Crawfish boils, play wars, treehouse, crossing over the back fence to play baseball. So so may memories. 
Michele, so sad to hear of Bobby’s passing.

There are those we are fortunate enough to cross paths with  in life who we think of as clearly “good people”.  Honest, caring, professional, truthful, helpful and dedicated. Bobby was just such a person. I had the honor to first meet Bobby around 1990 and then work with him numerous times over the ensuing years. He was such a pleasure to work with and made each team all the better with his inclusion.  He will be greatly missed and forever remembered as a bright and shining light in life. Rest well fine sir. 

So many memories of 913 Evergreen Dr. God blessed me with being a part of the Smith family. Bobby was I felt, my younger brother. May God continued to  give peace to all the family and friends. Those who believe in Jesus as their savior, will one day see all those who have gone before us. Praise God.

o so many good memories of Bobby & of course Michell.

Bobby in both middle school high school was fun but steady - much better judgment than the rest of us.  still remember joking with him in mr rayford’s,  causing both of us to write 1000 lines (younger readers won’t understand)

but the most impressive thing, was the past 2 years…. he walked this path with such dignity, and not alone, Michell was with him at every step.   in the end, Bob expressed his plesure and gratitude of Michell and his sons and their families.  he was in peace, and affirmed that he had a great life.  

i hope we all can accept God’s plan with such dignity.   Love to Bob, my friend
