Richard Steven Nossek passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the age of 76. He was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA and retired to Livingston, LA. He was a veteran in the US Marine Corps, served in the Vietnam War, and was awarded numerous service medals. Richard went on to work in law enforcement with EBRSO, where he was well liked and respected. He retired as a Lieutenant after 20+ years of service. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, LSU football, being outdoors and working with his hands. Richard is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda; daughters, Terri McClelland (Chris), and Theresa Tassistro (Rodney); grandchildren, Dillion McClelland (Cat), Katelynne Wade (Kirk), Brandon McClelland, Tyler Steven Nossek Thompson, Alex Tassistro; great-granddaughters, Nikia, Leighton, Mataya; sister, Carla McKinney (Jack); brother-in-law, Daniel Usey; and a host of other loving family members and friends. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Edna Nossek; and sister, Paula Usey. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 9am until the time of funeral services at 10am. Burial will follow at LA National Cemetery, 303 W. Mount Pleasant Rd., Zachary, LA, at 1pm. Pall bearers will be Chris McClelland, Dillion McClelland, Brandon McClelland, Rodney Tassistro, Tyler Thompson, and Ryan Usey.
