Richard Lee Morris passed away on December 27, 2021, at the age of 86. He was born on May 19, 1935 in Wheeling, West Virginia. Richard started work early with a paper route, but was drafted into the Army in 1958. He worked several years in the grocery business as a store manager, and later retired from discount retail only after his 80th birthday. Richard’s favorite pastime was to play golf.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn Shields Morris; his two sons, Michael and Matthew Morris; grandchildren, Max, Connor, and Ryan Morris; brother, Robert Morris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph C. Morris and Yolan “Helen” Bolyog Morris.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will take place on Monday, January 3, 2022, at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70815, from 12:00-1:45 pm. There will be a procession from the front parking lot to the graveside in Greenoaks Memorial Park, for a graveside service which begins at 2:00 pm. Interment will immediately follow.
