Randy Eugene Thomas, 75, passed away on Sunday, April 30th surrounded by his family. He was born on January 15, 1948. Papa, which many knew him by, was a resident of Gonzales. He is survived by wife, Barbara Carbo Thomas and daughters Toni Gautreaux (Josh), Jessica Fernald (Mike), Carly Hebert (Justin), Kim Burns (Lee), and Kristal Stephens (Jonathan), grandchildren; Sarah, Hazel, Rosie, Gunner, Finley, Peyton, Lani, Kyle, Greyson and Layla; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Roland and Ann Thomas, in-laws Tony and Rosemary Carbo, and brother Jerry Thomas. Papa was a veteran of the US Navy where he served as HT 2nd class Petty Officer (E-5) from 1968-1972. He retired from Exxon Refinery as a Mechanical First Line Supervisor after 35 years. He loved fishing, all things LSU, especially baseball, being Papa to his grandchildren, and hanging out with Lucky dog. He was a jack of all trades and could fix almost anything. A private burial will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge and a Celebration of his Life (“Papa Party”) to be announced. A special thanks to all family and friends who stuck by us in our time of need; he will be dearly missed.
