A most precious heart and soul left this earth for His Heavenly Kingdom on January 12, 2014. He lived his life as he preached, "One day at a time". A former President and co-owner of Industrial Hardware and Supplies, he died Sunday, January 12, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 89, a native of White Castle, La. and a resident of Baton Rouge. Oliver was an U.S. Army/Airforce veteran of WWII. He is survived by the love of his life, Dorothy Gautreaux Olano, loving wife of 69 years, his four loving children, Terry Anseman, John Olano (Beverly), Linda Parker, and Paula Lauto (Carl), 8 beloved grandchildren-Chris Kaiser, "Skeet" Anseman, Laurie Turner, Kimberly Silvas, Jessica Eberle, Wesley Olano, Alex Lauto, Matthew Lauto, and Jack Lauto and 9 beloved great grandchildren. Preceeded in death by his parents, Oliver "Ollie" Olano and Vivian Whaley Olano, and sisters, Vivian Bouquet and Marion Davis. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #3298. In his last months he was lovingly cared for by Willie Mae Selvage, Laura McGee, Tawanna Coleman, Latrica Scott, Eloyace Scott and Sherlita King. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East from at 5pm-9pm on January 15, 2014; and from 10am until funeral services at 12pm on January 16th, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael Hospice, Prairieville, LA.
