Mona Jean Bordelon Gaspard (Jeannie), age 70, entered into eternal rest on January 9, 2022. She was born in Alexander, La. on Jan 10, 1951 to the late Lannie Joseph Bordelon and Ollie Barbin Bordelon. Jeannie is survived in death by her husband of 51 years, Ray Gaspard, and her two daughters, Monique Jarreau and Shantelle Davidson, husband Tim Davidson, and her two grandchildren, Ashley Jarreau Ducote and Brad Jarreau who were the light of her life. Although Jeannie had Covid in 2020 and battled it for three months, she was able to recover enough to attend her granddaughter's wedding to Nathan Ducote.
Jeannie is also survived by three sisters, Joyce Bordelon Nelson of Seattle WA and husband George, Maurine Bordelon LaCour of Baton Rouge, LA and Carol Bordelon Cashio and husband Victor of Central, LA. She is also survived by Ann Bond Bordelon of Clinton, LA. She is preceded in death by her only brother, Philip Bordelon and brother-in-law Percy LaCour. She leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces and their families.
To the people who were blessed to know Jeannie, you grew from her presence. She always displayed this amazing smile that lit up a room when she entered. She was quiet, shy and loved the Lord with all her heart and was ready for her journey. She will sadly be missed during the sisters Sunday night two hour conference calls. In lieu of flowers. Visitation will be held at 8:00 am on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Rabenhorst East, 11000 Florida Blvd., with services to follow at 10:00 am. Interment at Louisiana National Cemetery, 303 W. Mount Pleasant, Zachary, LA.
