Millie Josephine Pulley Edwards---"Millie" to her many friends—went to be with her Lord Tuesday evening, September 10, 2013. Millie loved music. She was a member of the Broadmoor Baptist church choir for many years. She was born in Shreveport, La., Oct. 26, 1927, the only child of Moody and Catherine Pulley. She was a vivacious, outgoing person, a friend to all that knew her. After attending Northwestern State University, she married Ralph B. Edwards, now deceased, in June 1949. Three children were born to the family. During their marriage, they lived in Bunkie and Pineville, La. In 1957, they moved to Baton Rouge; in 1964, moved to Jackson, Ms, and in 1982, back to Baton Rouge. Ralph--equally outgoing as Millie--was an insurance professional. Additionally, the family was involved in ownership of three Hancock Fabric stores in Mississippi. Until recent years, Millie was actively involved in numerous community projects such as Southeast Ministries food bank; active choir member; pre-school ministries, children's choir and other ministry related activities. She was a close follower of LSU sports. Millie enjoyed dancing, golf, marathon bridge. While in Jackson, Ms.,she loved riding her "Big Red" Morgan horse. Survivors include 2 daughters Linda Maley and husband, Claude, Lydia Boggan and husband, Buddy; 6 grandchildren, Alicia Lawrence, Tres Maley, Georgia Warren, Erin Foster, Courtney Glover, and Dylan Glover; 9 great grand children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Edwards, and one daughter, Lori Glover Lambert. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Friday, September 13, 2013, from 12 pm until funeral service at 2 pm. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Broadmoor Baptist Church in Millie's memory.
