Michael E. Davenport (Mike), age 70, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, entered eternal rest on November 29, 2022. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Theresa Marino Davenport; daughter, Jessica Michelle Davenport Miller and her husband, Jeffrey Miller; their children, Aubyn and Jett, the absolute loves of his life. He is also survived by his sisters, Pamela Miller, Patricia Rhodes, and Peggy Cook (H.L.); his sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Mary Margaret Marino, Paulette Marino, Britt and Rose Westmoreland, Sam and Paula Marino, Gina and Cordell Cox; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was met at the gates of Heaven by his parents, Junior Patterson & Christine Davenport; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary & Samuel J Marino, Sr.; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Marino.
Mike didn’t meet a stranger, was a true friend, and he was loved immensely by all that knew him. He was the greatest dad to his only daughter and son-in-law, and the most incredible Paw Paw to his grandbabies. During his enlistment in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1971-1973, he earned a rank of Corporal E4. An avid hunter, Mike was a founding member of Hard Luck Hunting Club where he spent his weekends with his son-in-law and numerous hunting buddies. He was also a die-hard LSU fan. An AT&T retiree, he worked for 39 years. He was a member of American Legion, Knights of Columbus, Pioneers of America, and the National Rifle Association.
Visitation will be at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane beginning at 9:00 AM with a funeral mass at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 3rd.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeffrey Miller, Britt Westmoreland, Sam Marino, Cordell Cox, Trey Marino, Shawn Copsey, Wayne Davenport, Mike Johnson, and Mike Hixson.
