Mary “Lois” Legleu Sibley a native of Plaquemine, Louisiana and resident of Denham Springs, Louisiana entered God’s Kingdom on Wednesday December 20, 2017 at the age of 89. She was born November 24, 1928 to Clovis Peter Legleu, Jr. and Sophie Langlois Legleu. Lois is survived by her daughter Donna Belle Kuykendall and husband Kenny of Walker, Louisiana, granddaughter Dr. Aimee Plaisance Graham and husband Nathan, great-grandchildren Jake Evans, Mikah, Harper and Zoe Graham of Walker, Louisiana, grandson Lt. Colonel Matthew Belle and wife Chrissie, great grand-children Addison, Alexis, and Everett Belle of Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, granddaughter Christine Belle Cumberledge and husband Stacy, great-granddaughter Caidyn Cumberledge of Hurst, Texas, granddaughter Traci Sibley- Wagner and husband Roger, great-grandson Cameron Gatter of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is survived by her brother Kenneth Legleu, sisters Ruby West and Connie Silvio, brother Jack and his wife Linda Legleu, and brother Stan and his wife Linda Legleu, as well as sister in law Kay Legleu, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Clovis and Sophie Legleu, her husband Leroy Sibley, and her son Greg Belle, and great granddaughter Addie Blair Graham. She was also preceded in death by sisters Betty Legleu, Ruth Brogan Lambert, and brother Peter Clovis Legleu, III. Lois and her husband Leroy were previous member of Don Avenue Baptist Church and participated at One Life Church with her family. Lois graduated from Istrouma High School in 1946 and married Ray Joseph Belle, the father of her two children. She enjoyed a long time career at Gulf States Utilities where she made many good friends. She became a full time homemaker when she remarried and enjoyed a loving 41 year marriage to Leroy Sibley. Lois enjoyed the many travels required in his career and made friends wherever she went. Her hobby was crocheting, and each family member received a lovingly crafted afghan for life events. Lois was an excellent cook, baker, and candy maker. She was famous in her family for her traditional French custard dessert tart a’ la bouille or “pap and cake” as the Legleu family called it. She also greatly enjoyed the companionship of her Boston Terrier dog, “Angel”. Lois had a loving relationship with all that knew her. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Saturday, December 23, 2017 from 12pm until funeral service begins at 2pm.
