II Timothy 4:6-7, “For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” Mark Stephen Devall, a loving husband, father, friend, and solider of the Lord, went to be with his Lord and Savior after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, April 27, 2014, with his loving family surrounding him. He was a native of Baton Rouge and an employee of Baton Rouge Water Works for over 35 years. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Deborah LeBleu Devall; daughter, Megan Jo Devall and future son-in-law, Kristofer S. Clark; like a daughter, Traci Guitreau and husband, Coy Guitreau; mother, Jewell M. Devall, and brother, Gary W. Devall and wife, Patti; extended family to include brothers, Paul Stanley and family, Sammy Stanley and family; sisters, Elaine Horrell and family, and Dianne White and family; Father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Gloria LeBleu; brother-in-law, Dwain J. LeBleu and wife, Sherri; sister-in-law Inga L. Klein and husband, Philip; brother-in-law Clarence E. LeBleu. Numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly and his relationship with each meant the world to him. Tak Fraternity Brothers, dear friends, and family members too numerous to name. Preceded in death by his father, Boyd E. Devall; brothers, Dan Stanley, and Billy Stanley. Mark summed up his life in one word with three letters: JOY – Jesus, Others, Yourself for a joyous and wonderful life. Pallbearers are Gary Devall, Sammy Stanley, Dwain LeBleu, Philip Klein, Glen Lane, and Woody Day. Honorary pallbearers are Alan Wallace, Stephen Ortego, Gene Demars, Larry Smith, Grover Stephens, Paul Stanley, Charley Klein, Coy Guitreau, Bill Sinclair, John Devall, and Kristofer Clark. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 11 a.m. until funeral services conducted by Rev. Huey Moak at 2 p.m. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any cancer foundation of one’s choice.
