Marjorie Haverstroh Brown, age 92, was born in Jackson, MS on March 5, 1924 to J. Henry Haverstroh and Alma Axton Haverstroh and passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016. She is survived by her daughters Linda Mullican of Baton Rouge and Betrice M. Nance and husband Kenneth of Brandon, MS.; three grandson, Ken Nance and wife Janna of Brandon, MS. Keith Barber of Baton Rouge, and Chris Nance of Brandon, MS.; several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews as well as life-long friend Geneva Ivey; her daughter Patty Whittington and numerous friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Brown; parents; brother, J.H. Haverstroh, Jr.; sisters, Bernice Sullivan Latham and Dorothy Haverstroh Laird; and great granddaughter, Payton A. Blanchard. A strong willed person, affectionately known by her grandchildren as Maw Maw, she was the matriarch of the family and could be counted on to give her opinion and advice to all. “Margie” loved the Lord and counseled her family, friends, and anyone she came into contact with on the “Word”. The family would like to thank the staff at Clarity Hospice for their kindness to her in the final days. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA. 70815, on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 5pm to 9pm and will resume on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 9am until funeral service at 12pm.
