Marjorie Davis Forbes, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 12, 2022, as she lived, with her family by her side. She was born in Poplarville, MS and was a lifelong resident of the Baton Rouge area. She leaves us with so many incredible memories but most of all that she was always there for us and loved us unconditionally. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her but leaves us with a legacy of love, laughter and kindness.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving daughters, Tina Forbes Matthews and her husband Buster, Toni Forbes Perkins and her husband Kenneth; her son, Otis Forbes Jr and wife Carol; son in law, Edward Meyer; grandchildren Holly Blanchard Dantzler and her husband Jerry, Margaux Van Pelt Shamblin and her husband Michael, Jonathan Meyer and his wife Shelly, Alexander Meyer, Michelle Forbes and Rachel Perkins; great grandchildren Dakota Shamblin, Brady Higganbotham, Brittany Denham, Cash Meyer and Charlie Meyer; sisters Saranell Babin and Mary Earle; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Special thanks to her caregivers in Morgan City and Baton Rouge for the exceptional care given to her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Otis T. Forbes, Sr; daughters Beverly Forbes Van Pelt and Donna Forbes Meyer; two grandchildren Brad Denham and Matthew Van Pelt; great grandson, Jax Meyer; two sisters, Dora Prather, Virginia Vacarro; and three brothers, James Davis, Carroll Davis and Jewell Edmond Davis.
Visiting at First Baptist Church of Central, 9676 Sullivan Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70818 on Friday, February 18 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Service immediately follows in the chapel at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Bruce Worrell.
