A retired employee with the Louisiana Department of the Treasury, she died at 8 a.m.Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at her home in Baton Rouge. She was 100 and a native of Sikes. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Tuesday, Feb. 27, from 5 p.m.to" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">p.m.to 8 p.m., and in the chapel on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m.until" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">a.m.until religious service at 10 a.m.She is survived by three daughters, Leatrice "Apple" Kring, Shirley Skillin and Juanice Ray and husband Jay; and nine grandchildren, Karen Prestridge, Kris Kring, Richard Ray, Jamey Skillin, Denise Donnelly, Roger Yelverton, Brenda Yelverton, Lisa Yelverton and Peggy Tafoyer. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Mary Virginia Yelverton; a son, Wallace Yelverton; a granddaughter, Becky Skillin; two grandsons, Russell Ray and Jackson Yelverton; and a great-great-granddaughter, Amber Michelle Ray.
