Louis Anthony Babin passed away at his home in Lakewood, Calif., Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011. He was born Dec. 31, 1923, in Baton Rouge. Louis retired as superintendent engineer at Keene Corporation Reinhold Industries Aircraft Production with 25 years service. He loved hunting, fishing, dancing and spending time with family and friends, especially his nieces and nephews. He always looked forward to all of the family vacations with them. But most of all, everyone looked so forward to having him there. He was "Uncle Louis" to everyone. He was as kind and giving as anyone could ever be and lived his life trying to help others in need. He was deeply loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Maude Fruge and C.F. "Benny" Fruge and Emily Stein; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Santa; mother, Harriet Babin; father, Fabian Babin Sr.; two brothers, Fabian Jr., and Morris Babin; and sister, Joyce Ragusa. Pallbearers will be Dr. Farrell Fruge, Scott Fruge, Medric Stein Jr., Steve Stein, Ricky Stein and Wayne Stein. Honorary pallbearers are Donald Louis Stein, Troy Babin and Tod Babin. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Thursday, Sept. 29, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation continues at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Friday, Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. >
