In loving memory of Leslie Grand, born on April 9, 1941, who died peacefully at home on April 30, 2024. Leslie was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 58 years, Alice Carol (A.C.), a loving father to his sons Chad and Todd, a cherished father-in-law to Melissa and Ashley, and a proud "Papa Les" to his granddaughters Brielyn, Avery, Adler Grace ("Gracie"), and Alice. Leslie is preceded in death by his parents, Janet and Johnny Grand, and his brother, Gary Grand. He is survived by two brothers, Richard Grand (Rosemary) and Robert Grand (Debbie), and many devoted nieces and nephews. Leslie's family was the cornerstone of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them. A native of Baton Rouge, Leslie attended Baton Rouge High School and graduated in 1959. Dedicated to country and community, Leslie proudly served in the U.S. Navy for three years aboard the USS Lexington and the USS Shangri-La. After returning home, Leslie attended college at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi and Louisiana State University. On June 4, 1966, Leslie married his sweetheart, Alice Carol. Through life's joys and challenges, Leslie and A.C. stood by each other's side and built a lifetime of memories together with their sons, Chad and Todd, and all their family and friends, especially at Leslie's camp in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. In 1974, with determination, vision, and an entrepreneurial spirit, Leslie opened Ethan Allen Home Interiors along with his parents, Janet and Johnny Grand. Leslie was a pillar of the community, whose impact extended far beyond the bounds of his home. He was active on many boards and community organizations throughout his life, including Baton Rouge Lions Club, Family Services Council, Better Business Bureau, Police Youth Camp, Southwest Ethan Allen Dealers Association, Krewe of Mystique de la Capitale, and Krewe of Tucumcari. He was a George Washington Fellow in the Sons of the American Revolution, General Philemon Chapter. Leslie was an active and devoted member of First United Methodist Church. Leslie's legacy will endure through the memories he created and the many lives he touched. He was a true gentleman whose memory will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, Papa Les, knowing you will always be in our hearts. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at First United Methodist Church, 903 North Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802.
