Lena Ebey Crotwell, a woman of loving faith and boundless kindness, bid farewell to this world on May 30, 2023. Lena was born on February 19, 1933, in Pride, Louisiana. After graduating from Baker High School, she embarked on a journey of love and companionship when she married Clifford Crotwell in 1951 having been introduced to him by her sister-in-law Nell at a church gathering.
Throughout her life, Lena found joy in her work at Sears and Roebuck and with her passionate hobbies, cooking and gardening. She was a founding member of the Herb Society of Baton Rouge and was always ready to prepare a warm meal and comfort any that suffered a need.
Lena's memory lives on through those she held dear. She is survived by her cherished son-in-law, Glenn Jarreau, and treasured granddaughter, Valerie Elizabeth Jarreau. She also leaves behind her sister, Fannie Phillips, and her sister-in-law, Nell Ebey May, who held a special place in her heart. Numerous nieces and nephews who were dear to her also mourn her passing. Lena is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Alma Ebey; husband, Clifford Crotwell; her daughter, Linda Crotwell Jarreau; granddaughter, Kelly Diane Jarreau; and grandson, Patrick Glenn Jarreau; brothers, Willie, Harley, and Arthur Ebey; and sisters, Alma Biggs, Mattie Ebey, Eloise Ebey, and Dorothy Crotwell.
Lena Ebey Crotwell will be remembered as a woman of grace and love, whose gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion will forever remain an inspiration to those who were fortunate enough to share in her life's journey. Lena was a lady of deep faith and gentle kindness. May she find eternal peace in the embrace of her Heavenly home.

A visitation for Lena will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church (14512 Greenwell Springs Road) on Friday, June 2, at 10 am until service at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
