On 14 September, 2018, Dr. Judith M. Ball, age 65, of College Station, TX, passed away and went to be with her eternal God the Father in Heaven. Dr. Ball obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Southeastern Louisiana University, and later acquired her PhD in Biochemistry from Louisiana State University in 1990. She completed post-doctoral studies at the University of Pittsburg, University of Alabama, Birmingham, and at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. As Associate Professor in the School of Veterinary Medicine, Texas A&M University College Station, her research focused on the study of the viruses EIAV, HIV and the pathogenesis of Rotavirus. Over her career, Dr. Ball had over 80 scientific papers published on her research. She had a great love for her family, her science and her books. She was always active in her church, and especially loved working with children in Vacation Bible School and teaching children’s Sunday School. Judy will be missed for her humor, sweet gentleness, and smile. Judy is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Jerry W. Ball; father, Willie J. Marchand; sister, Brenda Tedder; brothers, Sidney “Man” (Christy) and Bryan Marchand, Sr. (Crystal); nephews, Kristopher and Matthew Liptak, and Adam and Bryan Marchand, Jr.; nieces, Nikki and Lauren Marchand, and Amanda Borowski. Judy is preceded in death by her mother, Lois Jean Marchand. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Saturday, September 22, 2018, from 11:00AM until the time of funeral services at 1:00PM.
