Juanita passed away from natural causes at the age of 76, on Thursday, November 3, 2022, while being surrounded by her loved ones. She was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she was known to love and adore her family. She worked as a legal secretary at Gulf States and Entergy for many years until she retired. Sewing and making memories with her grandchildren were her favorite pastimes. Juanita was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother that is deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Ward Hicks; sons, James C. Hicks and Terrance L. Hicks; grandchildren, James Coy Hicks, Codie Leigh Hicks, and Hayes Ammon Hicks; sister, Anita Noland. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and Richard Lucas; brother, Rick Lucas. The family would like to give a special thanks to the surgeons, nurses, and personnel of MICU at Our Lady of The Lake Hospital.
