Joshua "Josh" C. Smith

Our beloved Joshua “Josh” C. Smith, 44, tragically passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024. He was born on July 2, 1980 in Lafayette, LA to Clare Weil Neely and Jody Smith. He is survived by his son, Preston Cade Smith; his parents, Clare and Joel Neely, father and step mother, Jody and Melinda Smith; sisters, Shanie M. Bourg and Katherine “Katie” Rogillio; step brother, Justin Neely; nephews, Branson Rogillio, Tripp Bourg, and Levi Neely; grandmothers’, Connie Weil and Mabel Pedigo. Preceded in death by his grandfathers’ Heldon “Jay” Weil, and Murphy Smith.

He will be loved and missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Josh loved spending time with his son, Preston, fishing, and working on projects. His passion for repairing anything mechanical was known to anyone that knew him. He never met a stranger and would help anyone in need while providing a good laugh to brighten your day. He touched all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home’s Life Celebration & Reception Center located at 9607 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815 on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity or organization of your choice.
