Joseph Charles (Joe) Roberts, Jr., born on 19 January, 1933 passed from this world Friday, 29 July, 2016 at the age of 83. He was known as "Boy" Roberts to his family as he was growing up. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gwendolyn Harris Roberts; four children: Janet Anaise Roberts (Bujeaux), David Josiah Roberts (Lisa), Mary Claire Donaldson (Troy), and Richard Lane Roberts (Melinda); nine grandchildren: Kindra Christine Rieman, Gary Chase Donaldson, Abbie Gail Donaldson, Jamie Lynn Smith, Lane Joseph Roberts, Justin Clyde Smith, Colleen Joy Roberts, Ethan Micah Roberts, and Blake Alexander Roberts; six great grandchildren: Daniel Louis Kosick, Jr., Gabriel Alexis McDonnell, Olivia Christine McDonnell, Amelia Grace Eubanks, and Tyler Joseph Eubanks; two brothers-in-laws: Roger Harris and Charles Harris.He graduated from Catholic High School in 1952 and attended Louisiana Tech on a football scholarship. He was a member of the Pipefitters Union, Local 198. He retired as a Construction Supervisor.He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Charles Roberts, Sr. and Mary Joy Barbay Roberts.Visitation will be on Monday, August 1, 2016, at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Dr., from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, celebrated by Fr. Michael Schatzle. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
