2 Corinthians 5:17 "“ "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new." John Eugene Bergeron became new again today as he died January 11, 2015, at high noon here on earth to join his loving parents in heaven. He was born August 26th 1952, in Baton Rouge Louisiana to Archangel Marie Vavasseur Bergeron and Clarence Leo Bergeron, the youngest of seven children. He is survived by his sisters Claire Adele Bergeron, Carolyn Rose Sumrall, Deanna Marie Monteleone, Janelle Louise Shell (Wayne) and brothers Ronald Joseph and Michael Paul (Phyllis), along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews beloved by all as the patriarch of multiple generations of the Bergeron Family. He was a graduate of Catholic High School and Louisiana State University with a 33 year career as an IT professional for the State of Louisiana. In addition to his dedication to his family, his service to others was evident as a Eucharistic Minister with St. George Parish serving both in the Mass and local nursing homes along with utilizing his IT experience to assist the local St. George St. Vincent DePaul Society. Friends and family will be received at St. George Catholic Church, Saturday, January 17, 2015, 9:00 a.m. until a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am. celebrated by Fr. Michael Schatzle. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Catholic High School and St. George Catholic Church Building Fund. Funeral arrangement at the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home.
