Janese Smith Pugh entered her heavenly home November 1st at the age of 65 after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She is a long time native of Baton Rouge, LA, and a graduate of Central High School. She worked at Instrument Testing Lab for 17 years and retired from JM
Test Systems after 24 years of service. She loved traveling and monthly get-togethers with her long time girlfriends. Yet, her greatest joy was spending time and making memories with her family. Through her cancer journey, she made some wonderful friends that became known as her “Teal Sisters”.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Prentiss Pugh; sons, Brian (Sophie) Pugh, David (Meagan) Pugh; grandchildren, Bennan and Esther Pugh; and her sister, Phyllis (Lynn) King. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Mary Smith; and her sister, Ann (James) Hebert.
A visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 2 pm – 6 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 7th beginning at 11 am, conducted by Pastor Steve Foster of Community Bible Church, with burial following in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
