James Rainwater

James Rainwater, native of Central, La., passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on February 10, 2022 at the age of 93. James was a Navy Veteran, serving his country in WWII and the Korean War. He retired from the District Attorney's Office after a long career in law enforcement. James loved his family, gardening, hunting, and fishing. He was a longtime member of Fellowship Baptist Church. James was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Manisco Rainwater; daughters, Vicki Anne Rainwater, Angela Rainwater Gill; Parents, Harvey and Lela Rainwater; multiple brothers and sisters. James is survived by his children; James Daniel Rainwater (Cyndi), Linda Longmire (David), Cherie Neyland (Tim), Jeremy Sinclair and fiancee Jennifer Kidwell, Frank Rainwater family, Marvin Rainwater family, Dennis Rainwater family; brothers, Louis Rainwater, Martin Rainwater; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jennifer Kidwell, Diane Spears, Sandra Williams, and Audubon Hospice for the loving care extended to our father and our family. Pallbearers will be: Tim Neyland, David Longmire, Jeremy Sinclair, Steven Lumpkin, Joshua Longmire, Justin Longmire. Services officiated by Pastor Troy Romig. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm with a funeral service to begin at 12:00 pm at Greenoaks Funeral Home.
