A resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away at age 91 on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at home after a 13-year fight with Alzheimer's. He was retired from Copolymer, a mason for 61 years, and an Army veteran of World War II. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Friday, Oct. 21, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until graveside service at noon in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by his daughter, Dannette Davis; sisters, Sara Nell Babin, Mary Earl and Margie Forbes; brother, Jewell Davis and wife Christine Davis; grandson, Troy Davis and wife Debi; and great-grandson, Grant Davis. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Howze Davis; parents; brother, R.C. Carrol Davis; and sisters, Dora Prather and Virginia Vaccaro.
