Jacqueline "Jackie" Menck Hood

"Jackie was born November 28, 1936 in Jefferson County, AL and passed away November 29, 2017 in Baton Rouge at age 81.  She was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and retired from LA DOTD and from Sam's Club.  Jackie was a devoted member of Lanier Baptist Church.  She loved her dogs, her fruit trees, plants, cooking and LSU sports.    She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Edward Dewitt Hood, Sr.; parents Ernest Augustus and LaRue Bell Menck; sister, Ernestine Menck Forbes; and brother, Robert A. Menck.  She is survived by her loving son, Edward "Eddie" Dewitt Hood, Jr., and wife Renee Nevels Hood; loving daughter, Linda Gale Hood Sansone and husband Samuel "Sammy" Sansone; five grandchildren, Kelly Hood Quick, and husband, John, Tara Hood Ransome and husband Lee, and Holly Hood, Anthony "Tony" Sansone and wife Brittany Jenkins Sansone, and Angela Sansone; four great grandchildren, Jagger and Layla Ransome, Kinsley and Blakely Quick; brother in law, James "Jim" Forbes and numerous extended family and friends.  Visitation will be at Lanier Baptist Church, Friday, December 1, 2017, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 8 am until religious services at 10 am conducted by Rev. Michael Ferguson.  Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Tony Sansone, Stan Forbes, Chase Forbes, Dale Michaelson, Frankie Polito, and Joseph Ferguson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Forbes, Kim Goetzmann, Dave Cleveland, and Gary Hawkins.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lanier Baptist Church.
